Write review request emails customers actually read
Email gives you room to thank a customer properly and explain why their feedback matters. This review request email generator writes a short, personal email with a subject line, built from your customer’s name, your business details, and the tone you pick.
It combines hand-written phrase variants with what you enter, runs in your browser, and stores nothing on a server. It does not send email. You copy the draft into your own email program or customer platform.
How to use the review request email generator
- Enter the customer’s first name (optional).
- Add your business name and choose your business type.
- Pick a tone: warm, professional, or short.
- Add optional details, such as the service, date of visit, or the staff member who helped.
- Paste your Google review link.
- Generate the email and regenerate for a different version if you want.
- Copy the subject line and body into your email tool, check the details, and send.
Example emails

Hi Jordan, thanks for stopping by Corner Bike Shop. Mind leaving us a quick review? [link] Thanks!
Tips for review request emails
- Personalize the subject line. A first name or business name looks less like a mass mailing.
- Keep the body brief. Three to five sentences and a single clear link.
- Send from a real address. A named person or a monitored inbox builds trust.
- Time it right. Send within a day or two of the visit or job.
- One reminder at most. If there is no response, a single follow-up is enough.
- Make it mobile-friendly. Most people open email on a phone, so avoid long blocks of text.

What to include in every request
- A thank-you that references the actual visit or job.
- One sentence on why reviews help, such as helping neighbors find a trusted local business.
- A direct link to your Google review form, so customers do not have to search for you.
- A real name or team signature and a way to reply with questions or concerns.
CAN-SPAM basics
In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act applies to commercial email. A one-to-one thank-you email may be treated differently from a marketing message, but if your review requests go out in bulk or include promotional content, follow these basics. This is general information, not legal advice:
- Use accurate “From” and subject lines that are not misleading.
- Include your valid physical postal address.
- Provide a clear way to unsubscribe, and honor opt-out requests promptly.
- If you use an email platform, it will usually add the unsubscribe link and address footer for you.
Follow Google’s review rules
Google’s policies prohibit review gating (asking only satisfied customers or filtering people before they reach the review page) and offering incentives in exchange for reviews. The FTC’s rule on fake reviews and testimonials, effective October 2024, also restricts buying, faking, or suppressing reviews. Send the same honest request to all customers.

FAQs
Does the generator send emails for me?
No. It only writes the draft. You copy it and send it from your own email account or platform. No email addresses are collected or stored.
Should I include a discount or giveaway?
No. Google prohibits incentivized reviews. Ask for honest feedback without offering anything in return.
Can I send the same email to every customer?
Yes, and you should ask all customers, not just happy ones. Adding the customer’s name and service makes each email feel personal.
What should the subject line say?
Keep it short and honest, such as “Thanks for visiting, Anna” or “How did we do?” The generator suggests a subject line with each draft.
